Hi,

We are off to LM in December and I recently read that someone had problems at check in in terms of giving a credit card to them. We will have fully paid for our trip when we arrive so does anyone know if we still have to give them a credit card?

Depends how you made the payment. Many hotels %26#39;hold%26#39; the payment until you arrive and then process it. If you made payment through a third party agent, make sure you have printed proof of the payment and what it was for.

Yes i remember reading about that and it was a trainee who was inexperienced asking for the pin for the credit card for any breakages or expenses when the guest checked in.This was all sorted out and lets hope the trainee receptionist now knows the correct procedure for check in. After all we all have to learn it was probably her first day.

Upon arrival you will be given a drink and cold scented towell while you fill in a standard check in form of your details. You will be asked for a credit card but this is not to take any money from you it is for what you might spend in the hotel. I suppose if you run off without paying the bill they will then just take what you owe.This is standard practice all over the world.

I suppose you%26#39;ve told the Le Meridien it is your hoeymoon? They are pretty good with upgrades, gifts etc. Well, they were for our ';second honeymoon'; anyway!:)

The travel agents know but may email them before we arrive just to make sure!!

If you don%26#39;t want to give credit card details you can always offer a cash deposit. We prefer to do this and have never been refused, so far.
