What should i wear in Thailand, i am going in October and will be eating out a lot in the evenings, can i wear summer dresses or is it best to be covered up. Also what should i wear in the day time, 3/4 length trousers with a short sleeved top.

Please help as i dont want to be out of place.

You will find the day temp,s to be about 30C and night,s to be between 24/26c so dont overdress although if going to a nice restaurant go smart/casual. Dont go topless on the beaches as Thai,s take offence at this as they are very modest and will swim in the sea fully clothed. Have a great time, i,ll be in Pattaya from the 21st October until 13th November.

I live in my linen trousers when I am in Thailand. Three quarter length trousers would be fine with a t shirt/ vest top during the day. You can also wear shorts or dresses up to you really. Just remember to take something modest that covers your shoulders (a kaftan style top would do) and some long trousers or long skirt in case you want to visit the temples as you wont be allowed in if your arms and legs or exposed...or you may have to hire appropriate clothes from the temple so best to go prepared!

Have a great holiday!

Only seen no admit for Grand Palace in Bangkok if you don%26#39;t have covered feet, long pants and t-shirt. Other temples do not care if you are in shorts.

Any rate up to you what you wear - its extremely hot/humid - so I would advise shorts ect.

We are going in 2 weeks! Yay!

I was going to take some shorts, tshirts, summer dresses but not sure if this is appropriate in Bangkok. I guess Phuket is more relaxed and casual but some temples in Bangkok requires covered clothes, right?

Can I have shorts (mid thigh) with covered shoes? Or do I have to wear long pants or skirts?

Make sure you do have sleeves in your blouse, I wore a singlet type top on an outing that included temples and had to hire the cover up gear to cover the exposed arms but the ladies with us were okay aa they had sleeves. The 3/4 pants would be fine.
