Honeymoon in Nov: Trisara or The Sarojin?

Hi, my husband and I will be traveling from Atlanta to SE Asia for our honeymoon in Nov. We are spending first 2 nights at the Peninsula Bangkok. Debate is between:

a) driving to Hua Hin for 4 nights and staying at Six Senses Hideaway or Asara Villas OR

b) flying to Phuket and staying at Trisara or the Sarojin for 4 nights

Husband leans toward Phuket/Khao Lak because he likes to dive; I%26#39;m concerned about additional flight/travel time. We just really want to relax in comfortable, luxurious surroundings, enjoy good food and spa--not looking for any nightlife. Really would like to have own pool and/or sala.

Can anyone weigh in on their own experiences or offer recommendations? We are deadlocked. Many thanks!

Honeymoon in Nov: Trisara or The Sarojin?

Hi Newlywed,

I say go to Trisara in Phuket. Sarojin is probably more fabulous but it takes another hour or hour and a half from Phuket airport by car to get to Khao Lak, so I guess in this case Trisara is your middle ground between Hua Hin and Khao Lak, in terms of ease of getting to. And of course in Phuket you can still opt to dive, whether or not you choose to dive at the Similans (which are fantastic).

It%26#39;s pretty easy to hop on a flight from Bangkok to Phuket. So the flight to Phuket is only slightly more trouble than the drive to Hua Hin, which is great in its own right.

Basically you can%26#39;t go wrong but if you wanna feel like you%26#39;ve minimized unwarranted travel time, I think Trisara in Phuket is a good compromise, you get better beach %26amp; diving but didn%26#39;t have to sweat to get there.

I hope I%26#39;ve helped. Do share your thoughts on the hotels. I have always wanted to visit the Sarojin, and my bestfriend has only compliments for Trisara.

All the best on your honeymoon.

Many thanks for the feedback. We were concerned by the remoteness of Trisara as far as its proximity to other restaurants and such. We%26#39;d like to venture out for lunch/dinner and it seemed like this required a 20-50 minute drive anywhere. I think we%26#39;re leaning towards Sarojin.....again, many thanks!

Trisara is really a nice REsorts... I will go to Trisara in eary oct to celebrate my paper anniversary ..but the hotel is quite full.. only POOL room is available in this period... very bad... which room type are u going to stay??

Hello,

Khao Lak is not all that far from Phuket 1hour 15 minutes. The Sarojin is on one of the best beaches in Khao Lak and is a fantastic luxury boutique resort. You have some beach restaurants on your doorstep with another 5 minutes walk near to the Le Meridien and another called the Boatyard Restaurant within a 10 minute walk. Also you have complimentary shuttle into Khao Lak in the evening .

Thanks for the input. After agonizing over two great options, we%26#39;ve decided to go to the Sarojin, primarily because it seems to have better proximity (restaurants, diving, day trips) and so far the service has been top notch in our email dealings. Thanks again!

Just to throw a spanner in the works you should consider Le Meridien Khao lak beach front with a pool rooms. They are likely to be cheaper than the Sarojin but you would have kids in the resort itself. it is a stunning property quite a lot larger than Sarojin but would be great value for money. Hope this does not confuse you.

The Sarojin%26#39;s pool is back off the beach and I do not recall them having bungalows with pools. That being said the property was stunning.

No way. Trisara is 2 minutes drive from Nai Thon beach where there are several restaurants and the WhiteBeach Resort is even closer. Even the Laguna area is no more than 10 minutes drive.

I stayed at the Sarojon in March this year. We stayed in a suite and also in a pool villa. I have to say that the pool villa is far nicer. If you want amazing food, faultless service, no children and a reasonable beach then this is the one for you. The travel time by limo from the airport is about an hour. Once you are there you are totally transported into another world. Khao Lak is only about a 10 min cycle ride (or 3 mins in the hotel car) and it looks like there are a few restaurants/bars. I cannot tell you anymore than this as we did not venture out as we preferred the sarojin ';bubble';

Hope this helps
