I am looking to travel to Thailand in late november 08 and i was wondering if anyone could tell me of any places they know that offer TRUE beachfront accomodation (i have been duped before) in Koh Samui?

Quite some resorts which are on a plot on the beach call all their accommodation options ';beachfront';. So, sometimes disappointment can occur.

But it%26#39;s true that you should be more specific about budget and beach preferences.

Thank you to those that have replied so far, i do see the naivety in my post. My budget is between US$100-200 per night and i was hoping for bungalow style accomodation, prefferably being able to walk straight from my room onto the beach and closish to party scene also. I hope this narrows it down a bit.

Have a look at www.sawadee.com. In Chaweng at Baan Chaweng and Natien Resort. In Lamai Sense Beach and on the cheaper side Bill Resort, Sand See Resort and Weekender Villa.

The Baan Chaweng is a lovely hotel right on the very front. They have a range of different options from standard rooms to delux bungalows(see asiarooms.com)

Also the Lamai Coconut resort has some beach front bungalows which are basic but clean and beautifully located!

I%26#39;m looking also, but our budget is more up to $500 AUD per night....

Any suggestions? I%26#39;ve seen Nora, dont like Tongsai.....

Take a look ot ZAZEN in Bo Phut, nice boutique hotel.

Try Seaview Paradise Resort. It%26#39;s on the beach at Lamai.

We have stayed there a couple of times and really enjoyed it. There are 2 beachfront units with 2 bedrooms, bathromm, kitchen,dining area and lounge all seperated from the beach by just your sun deck. The sea is ok at high tide for swimming and at low tide for a dip but there%26#39;s a great pool just up the beach that you pay about 100 bht a day to use or the management can organise to take you up to their hillside units infinity pool. Great views from here. Have a look at their rates. I think they will fit into your budget.
