shopping in Hua Hin

Hi all,

we are coming to Hua Hin in 4 weeks and I really can%26#39;t wait. This is the first trip to Thailand so i%26#39;m looking for a few shopping tips.

Can anyone recommend good ladies tailor and give me an idea of the price for a dress and a suit?

Also, the guidebook mentions Silk village (or something along those lines), where apparently you can find out how the silk is made and then shop at the end? Is this any good in terms of quality and price?

Can anyone also give me an indication of price for silk pyjamas and dressing gowns and leather shoes and bags? In terms of shoes, I am looking for very good quality, high end of the market, but not necessarily designer stuff. Got small feet for a westerner - UK size 2.5-3, so places aimed at local well heeled market would also be good.

Any advice would be appreciated.

We used Jasmine tailors in Hua Hin, they were quite good, didn%26#39;t need any alterations done after the initial fitting, were very happy.

Our daughter had 2 pr trousers and 2 blouses and jacket made for work made. Cost $154.00 AU around 4400 baht. Husband got a sports jacket 2000 baht, and I got a lined chiffon dress made for 3000 baht. I could not tell the difference between it and the picture in the book.

They have plenty of books to choose something or take a picture of something you like and they will copy it to a tee.

As for shoes we weren%26#39;t looking for anything so didn%26#39;t really see any. Maybe better shoe shopping in Bangkok. Good Luck, Sue

shopping in Hua Hin

Hi for shoes try the Village Shopping Centre. It is indoor and has a few shoe shops as well as clothes, supermarket etc.

You could also try the Premier Outlet just north of Cha Am, a large range of shops, many designer labels plus a rather large shoe shop selling a great many different labels, its hardly Thai but the the prices are generally very good.
