Booking a Flight question!! please can you help?

Hi everyone,

We are going to book our flights for our honeymoon (so excited!) and our question is:

Is it better to book through the airlines themselves (i.e. Emirates) or use somewhere like ebookers?

Lately there have been a lot of airlines go bust (we are in the UK) and I am not sure if it is safer to book direct or via an agent. There is not a much of a difference in price for the flights we want but if something went wrong with the airline for example, we would want to get our money back (obviously!).

Can anyone advise?

Usually - but not always - you can get a cheaper flight booking through an agent, rather than going direct to the specific airline. If your flight is with a major, scheduled, long haul airline, long established, then the chances of it failing are unlikely even in these fraught times and Emirates is one such airline. However, if you are still worried about that possibility, then book through Airline Network who charge an extra fee to insure against airline failure, but you may not necessarily get the cheapest airfare available with them.

Sometimes you can worry too much about what might or might not happen. Life%26#39;s a gamble. Enjoy it while you can!

I would also recommend booking with airline network. I have booked flights with Etihad through them for my last couple of trips and had excellent service.

Thanks to you both for the great advice re airline network!!

We have booked our flights and got a great price! With Qatar airways (which for the times we wanted were ';booked out'; on other sites!). ATOL protected too, so I am happy and feel secure now!

We are so excited now and can%26#39;t wait to go on our honeymoon!
