Hello,

Any recommendations for our short trip to Bangkok and Phuket? Which area in Bangkok should we stay to be in close proximity to attractions?

Thanks,

cant help with bangkok, but for phuket id stay in patong and visit fantasea and phuket zoo. also the monkey show and elephant treck and also the snake show.

there is thai boxing on the corner of bangla road and jungcylong shopping plaza.

oh- and then youll need a massage from one of the street stalls after all that and a pancake from the pancake man.

Thanks for your reply. The elephant trek sounds wonderful. Are they safe and how long does it take?

Patong? Any hotel recommendation?

Cheers,

You sure don%26#39;t have much time in Thailand. For Bangkok get a hotel near the Skytrain route. You can use that overhead rail service to get around town.

Probably Sukhumvit Road (low number end)or the Siam area will do for a hotel. Lots of malls, restaurants, travel agencies for tours, bars and street vendors available. Hotels in all price ranges.

Read up on Bangkok and see what you like. Here is a link that you can check out.

You can sign up for an evening dinner cruise at a travel agency. Tour company picks you up at your hotel and returns you there when the trip is over.

Check out James Bond Rock in Phuket.

You can take a dinner cruise in Phuket too!

Good luck.

Hi

I have been to Bangkok a few times and the usual suspects are Grand palace, wat arun, Jim Thompson house, shopping, taking the boat on the river etc etc. I went there last year on vacation with my wife and I have a trip report that I can share with you. Send me a mail on gardkarlsen@hotmail.com and I%26#39;ll send it to you :-)

Regards

Gard

think you can choose from a long or short trip.
