Travelling alone question

Hi I`m new here.. I`ll be traveling through Thailand during October on my own and I`d like to checkout the fullmoon party, I`m 33 years old and want to stay in a place that��s a bit away from all the action so I can have the option to escape! So I was looking at the Blue Hill Resort for a 5 night stay, would this place be too far away? Is there anywhere else you guys could recommend? I don`t mind paying 2000bht per night. Maybe I`m better staying closer to the action so I can mingle? Any opinions would be great.

Also are there any other travellers that would like to meet up for a fullmoon drink?

Thanks so much for your information, that really helps me out. I might look elsewhere for a spot to rest my head. Whats the weather like around mid October, I was thinking of booking something around Ban Tai Beach?
