Hi Oarsman51!
I rented a villa from samuiholidayhomes.com in january this year, and the villa and service was great. I plan to use them later this year. I also liked the Rhom makham villa, but it was already booked, but I will probably stay there next time if its available. I dont know the Baan Waan, but stayed in Villa Malee, which was great, and I can recommend it completely. The villa is near the airport with a great pool and very cool. Close to Chaweng and Big Buddha, and with big plasma TV sound system and free internet and ipod dock, was very comfortable with everything you need. The maid cooked delicious dinners for us a few times and she has an incredible friend to make massaage that we enjoyed many hours.
We fell in love with Koh Samui, and want to buy our own home there one day. Its an amazing place and everyone is so friendly. Daniel and Oreol from Samui Holiday Homes made everything easy and fun, and we spent some fantastic evenings together under the stars.
Hi there,
I am about to book a villa with samuiholidayhomes as well, can you confirm, did you have to wire transfer the funds to Honk Kong in order to book with them.
thank you
Hello SMkelly
I have just booked two villas for this coming December and yes I had to wire the money over to a Hong Kong account. I feel confident that everything will be ok. Which villa are you about to book?
Chris
I am also about to book, i.e. pay for villa Baan Waan with SAmui Holiday Homes. It looks like the service received is atisfactort. However my only concern is the payment requirement, i.e. 50% up fron at the time of the booking and 50% 1 month prior to the rental.
Has anybody suffered a bad experience withi this type of payment requirement?
Many thanks
Paul

Hi All
I am about to book Baan Kohia from samuiholidayhomes - its a bit of a relief to see that there are people who have had good services with them. We are actually planning a small low key wedding and samuiholidayhomes have offered to sort out the catering.
Has anyone stayed at this villa before and eaten there as well? Or has anyone planned a wedding through this website before?
Any feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
My wife and I booked and pre paid for the Villa Malee, through www.samuiholidayhomes.com for a 12 day stay.....we only lasted 3 hours!
Upon arrival the manager, commenting on how surprised he was that we had gotten to the villa so quickly from the airport, asked us not to go upstairs as his wife and the maid were finishing setting up. Even though it was only a short wait we still felt it inappropriate as we had paid for an early check in a long time ago.
When I asked about the whereabouts of the ipod dock the manager responded with ';that’s a good question';. He found a cable and plugged it into the back of the tv. This would mean: 1. The sound would come from the tv and not from stereo speakers. 2. It wasn’t possible to have a picture on the tv if the ipod was playing. 3. Because it was connected by cable and not an ipod dock as advertised, our ipod would not be recharging therefore the battery would run flat after first day of use.
Advertised on some websites and glossy magazines are pictures of a beautiful, graduated, landscaped garden. What we got was a view of a large boarded off area with drapings of blue tarp and finished off with an adornment of wind blown plastic bags.
But the worst of it was how dirty the house was and felt. There was also a ';certain'; smell in the house.
The white sofa in the lounge is not white but stained and the arms yellow from use. The cushion on the sofa had a large black smudge across it. The daybed in the study was in an even worse state. The lampshades were dusty.
The kitchen was filthy. Knobs on the stove were greasy. There were long, sticky drips on the stove splashback. The inside of the microwave was oily with bits of crusty cheese. The drinking glasses in the fridge were cracked and dirty. The kitchen sponge was old and dirty, we don’t understand, when you are paying US$400-675 a night, why they can’t replace the sponge everytime a new guest checks in. Cupboard handles and surfaces all felt sticky and grimy. After exploring the kitchen we were in need of washing our hands, went to the bathroom but there was no soap provided, so we went upstairs in search of another bathroom.
Climbing the stairs that ';certain smell'; became even more evident. Walking into the bathroom the first thing that greets you is this unsightly, ugly, filthy toilet brush. The holder is rusty, the brush is dirty, and the holder has a collection of putrid water that has dripped from the brush. To wash our hands we first washed off someone else%26#39;s toothpaste from the tap, we find a sponge, it’s got hair on it. There were two towels left on the bed for our use, one of them had yellow stains on it, on unravelling the other towel we found what looked like a drop of blood, but we can’t be certain that’s what it was. The sink and the bath needed a wipe down.
After a ten hour flight we were both desperate for a shower, but in these conditions it was fast becoming a daunting mission.
On opening the shower door it was evident where that ';certain smell'; was coming from, from the drain hole, we quickly closed the door, it was unbearable. We decide our other option was to shower in the other bathroom, here the laminate around the sink was chipped and water damaged. The shower glass was dirty with a build up of soap scum, same as the tap handle. Within a minute of being in this shower you are standing ankle high in water because the drain hole didn’t drain properly.
Villa Malee didn’t feel as private as what we had hoped. It’s in the middle of Sunset Villa and Villa Rose, you can see into the pool from both these villas. From your pool you are able to speak to the guests in the pool of the Sunset Villa. The pool towels provided were stained. The rooftop terrace is not how it is depicted in photos, it’s barren and neglected.
We feel that we are easy going people, we don’t live in a spotless house, we live in a small average house in the suburbs of Melbourne.
We worked hard and saved hard for this holiday.
Beware, there is good reason why they want the villa paid in full 30 days before you arrive!
The owner refused to refund us but instead offered us $450 not to leave this review.
