Any recommendations for our short trip to Bangkok and Phuket? Which area in Bangkok should we stay to be in close proximity to attractions?

Personally, I would stay close to the river and the sky train. That gives easy access for hopping on and off both transportation options.

Hi San,

It all depends what you have as your priority - ie food or shopping or sightseeing. Those times do not give you enough to get clothes tailored althuogh you will be able to buy lots off the rack. Hire a driver for several hours who will be able to direct you to what you want - they will wait while you do things.

In Phuket Patong is good at night, during the day Phuket Town, beaches, Kata viewpoint, and Wat Chalong (temple) is a few to keep in mind. Other options are cooking schools or a trip to islands although these will take a few hours.
