Is the weather better in Ko Samui of Phuket in early January???

Did you ever get any more info on how the Ko Samui weather is in January??? I want to make sure it is sunny! Also do you know where the nicest place is to stay??

Just looking in the crystal ball.....Probably slightly better in Phuket but Samui is ok in January but you are dealing in a tropical climate...
