phi phi island day trip

Hi Cindy,

The best in the biz is Simba. Go to Simbaseatrips.com and have a look. Would recommend you book now as they are extremely popular. The big plus to their tours is they do not overcrowd the boats and have a very personal service. Geoff and Jenny are the greatest. They were top of the list in the Things To Do with TripAdvisor but due to a computer glitch have been knocked off the site temporarily.

Did the Phi Phi trip and Phang Nga and loved both.

phi phi island day trip

Hi Wayne

I%26#39;ve just booked the Phi Phi tour with Simba for October 18. They said weather permitting! The Phang Nga Bay tour is running all year so I%26#39;m assuming the islands are blocked to weather...

Of the two tours which would you recommend first? I%26#39;ve only got time to do the one and want to pick the right one!!

Thanks,

Tammy

Hi Tammy,

Have to say we enjoyed the Phi Phi trip as the snorkelling is amazing. The Phang Nga trip was also great but no snorkelling so depending on your preferences as to which you would enjoy most.

Both were awesome.

If one does not know how to swim, snorkeling is a NO GO zone right?

Regardless of your water ability, Phi Phi on a day trip will be an utter disaster, unless you just want to get herded around with 50 million others.

Might I suggest AT LEAST an overnight. Take the big ferry in, get a room (book in advance but be prepared to have lower expectations of accommodations -- nothing dodgy, just not four star), enjoy the island by foot, have a nice sea side dinner, enjoy the evening, wake up and go back to Patong.

Those days trips really are a mass of people and I cannot fathom how one would enjoy it.

Just my two cents.

We booked a tour to Phi Phi Island, our tour guide was Honey, cant remember her company. Overall the tour was great but if your not into snorkling and that id probably just get a boat to Phi Phi and skip the whole tours. and from Phi Phi just get a little local boat to take you around the caves and around the island, or do whatever at your own leisure.

We went on a day tour and did a lot of snorkling and swimming but only got to spend seriously like 10 min on Phi Phi island itself. and like only 30 minutes for lunch, which was occupied by eating.. so i really didnt get to see much of phi phi island.bit of a disapointment. but was replaced by 2 hours at Egg Island which i enjoyed.

oh i miss phukett....:(

Yeah coz my friend and I don%26#39;t really want to swim or snorkel... we just want to sight see.

We%26#39;ll be staying in Patong. Where can we go to ride a boat that will take us there and basically explore on our own?

And also... do they sell the Kodak Max Underwater Disposable Camera over there? It sells here in Oz for $12 and I%26#39;m wondering whether it%26#39;s worth buying here or in Phuket. (I don%26#39;t want to damage my ';regular'; digicam.)

Thanks

I can%26#39;t believe you%26#39;re going to Thailand and don%26#39;t plan to swim! I thought that was the whole idea :)

LOL coz we%26#39;ll be swimming in Khao Lak =p

Phuket is our sightseeing stop... Khao Lak is our rest %26amp; relaxation stop. HAHAHAH

Another question, is it even possible to see a lot on a 1 day trip to Phi Phi?

I just saw the ferry times...

The earliest leaves at 8:30am, arriving at 10:45 from Rasada Pier.

The latest the ferry leaves Phi Phi back to Phuket is at 3pm (750baht) or 2:30pm (300-400baht)

With further research it turns out that Rasada Pier is located in Phuket Town.

How long does it take to get to Phuket Town from Patong?

Since the ferry arrives at 10:45, will there be enough time to sightsee around Phi Phi before having to leave at 2ish?

All your answers will be highly appreciated.
