Any suggestions on shortening or lengthening our stays is greatly appreciated!

Hi RM;

My first reaction is that you are trying to cram in to much in too little time. However, it may be that this is your one trip to SE Asia - if so, then it is understandable.

Depending upon your interests, you may find that your 2 days ';outside Bangkok'; may be cut by one and add one more day in Bangkok itself - giving yourself 3 full days in a great, big city.

I agree that 3 full days is a minimum for Siem Reap - to see the major temples in a nice relaxed paces 3 days is needed.

I think that it is somewhat a shame to miss Phnom Penh - I love that city. However, adding another travel day and such may make it too much a hassle.

BTW, here is a great free online guide for Cambodia - this section for SR.

Wow, I%26#39;m getting tired just thinking about your itinerary and feel you are trying to do far too much.

11 days in either of those countries is not enough, let alone trying for all three.

As BP mentioned if this is your one and only trip then 3 full days in each city is about all you can hope for. Just remember unfortunately you will be missing so much.

Catch the early flight out of Bangkok to Siem Reap, and then knock one day off. 2 Days cruising the temple grounds etc will be quite enough. Day 2 SR head out EARLY for the sunrise over Angkor Wat.

Good info to be found on SR at www.talesofasia.com

The American web site owner also runs a very comfortable guest-house, and he can hook you up with the right way to see the things you want to see, at the right price.

Consider losing a day in Bangkok at the start, and saving it up for the day before you fly home.

In my opinion, unless you have a special reason, you don’t need 2 days for Mekong Delta. The river life is lovely, but one day would give you enough experience when your time is that short.

If you feel like, visit Cao Dai Temple and Cu Chi Tunnels for Dec 8 and take a city tour in HCMC for Dec 9.
