I am visiting Loei city in december and would like a few hotels recommended in the 500 to 1500 baht range.

Can%26#39;t give a hotel recommendation but be aware that Loei can get very cold in December - its famous for it. Temperatures can get down to zero - yes, 0C.

be careful that you check which hotels are actually in the city itself. there are a number of resorts outside the city, as far away as 70 km.
