Millenium @ Patong or Twinpalms @ Surin

Going there with my partner, first vacation.

Had been doing research on these 2 hotels, we were looking for a place with pool access, twinpalms was our first choice before, unfortunately they%26#39;ve only grand deluxe rooms left (no pool access). Surin beach is about 15mins far from Patong (the popular area)and we were considering if Surin was too far to go out at night.

Our 2nd choice is in the Patong area, the Millenium. Design not as nice as the twinpalms (seem from the pictures)...but..almost the same price as the twinpalm grand deluxe, we could have get a pool access room at Millenium. Also from this forum found out that you can hear the band music from the market nearby...which might be annoying to some of the guest...

either a nicer hotel but far from everything,

or a ';not as nice hotel'; but very convenient, and with a pool access room.

any comments opinions?

Well . . . I wouldn%26#39;t agree that TwinPalms is ';far from everything';, as Patong is NOT ';everything';.

These are two hugely different resorts. In fact, I don%26#39;t know that the Millenium would qualify as a resort - perhaps more of a hotel in a shopping center.

If Patong is your preferred entertainment venue - then spend the ';15 minutes'; it takes to get there (though it will really be more like 20-25 minutes unless driven at an insane speed).

Surin Beach offers more than 25 restaurants right on the sand of the beach - TwinPalms has its own Beach Club with live entertainment - I think you will find a whole NEW Phuket that you didn%26#39;t know existed before.

TwinPalms!

Just my opinion.

Millennium looks old for me.

Twinpalms is perfect and only 15 mins to Patong is not much disturbing

Hi Da,

I would have to agree with the others and say that Patong is definately not everything and it is only 15 minutes if you did want to go. The twin palms is great and always busy because of it. If you want something more private in the Surin Beach area try the new Chava resort I have been in there as friends of mine were staying and it looks great they got a great apartment with its own plunge pool and I don%26#39;t think they paid much as the chava is just getting up and running.

Cheers Brian

cheers
