Chiang Mai to Lampang

I plan to travel from Chiang Mai to Lampang, around noon, stay overnight and return the next day around 2 pm. Does anyone know what the approx fares of a taxi from Chiang Mai to Lampang? What about the buses - are they air conditioned and comfortable?

I would take the bus. They do have comfortable air conditioned buses that leave every hour or so. It has been a while since I rode this bus, but I think the ticket price is around 40-50 baht. Be sure to ask for the VIP bus. It should take about 1.5 hours to get there.

I just checked the internet for the bus station and I found 2 - the Chiang Mai Arcade and Chang Phuark. Which is the correct bus station for Lampang?

It is the Chiang Mai Arcade Station. Enjoy you trip, I will also be going to Lampang in January.
