Hi all, any Chaing mai locals?

Hello there, I am planing to come to Chaing Mai next year to gain some work experiance teaching English. I am an undergraduate in England doing a degree in Education studies with English and hope to teach English abroad when I finnish my studies. Does any one have any experiance of doing something similar? Is Chaing Mai a good place to live and work? Any advice would be gratefully appreciated

Hi all, any Chaing mai locals?

Hi,

I dont have any experience with teaching english in Thailand other then some volunteer work. However ive heard of others doing the same as you. Chiang Mai is a Great! place to live and work. You find anything you need, good hospitals, dental care etc... Great restaraunts for international food, italian, american, indian, french etc.. Also you can live very cheap in chiang mai , if your into thai food and spend as little as 60 baht a day for 3 meals. Depending on where you decide to stay and the quality, apartment prices range from 2000 baht up to 10,000 or even more. However I do know that most of the international schools around have on campus living for teachers and their families.

Hope this helps.

MimiUK/Kirstyx,

I understand that you%26#39;re asking about local folks, but just in case, I%26#39;ll mention this...have you heard about Dave%26#39;s ESL Cafe website? It%26#39;s a great site for ESL teachers. Many teachers exchange their experiences in the forums.
