Koh Tao

hello,

can anyone please advise on a nice place to stay in Koh Tao? We are planing to go to the FMP on Koh Phangan in October and would like to head up to Koh Tao afterwards to do some diving! We are on a budget so somewhere cheap but clean!

Koh Tao in October is not really a good idea because the weather can be very badly, it was the case last year between October 15 until 15 Novembre and sometimes the boat doesn%26#39;t leave from this island...But it%26#39;s up to you.

If you would like to stay at Koh Tao in October is not great idea coz the weather then not so clear someday rain someday no but if you need that%26#39;s fine i will recommend Seashell Resort Koh Tao ,all rooms are comfortable and enjoy a lovely cool sea breeze throughout most of the year.Some have airconditioning and some are simply cooled by a fan.

Jul,s if the weather is bad for the full moon party why dont you go to Koh Samet via Hou Hin and Pattaya after!

The weather in Rayong is a lot better that time of year and koh Samet is a great small Island just 3 hours from BKK.

I think there is a flight from Surathani to pattaya?

Where you can get a minibus/ferry ticket about 3 times a day.

If not you can get the train from Surathani to Hou Hin then mini bus to Ban pae pier that takes you to Samet.

There is a lot of beach bars and a beach nightclub on Koh Samet,sort of like a mini Chewang in samui,with fire jugglers and wishing latterns ect.

I am only suggesting this if the weather ends up too rainy after FMP.

Travel is pretty cheap in Thailand and quite simple as so many are travelling back and forth all year to follow the sun.

I used to be at the East of Thailand and rather rainny that everyone confirmed but less than the South of Thailand if you would like to go diving or snorkelling I advice you at Koh chang or Koh Samed (mostly diving trips at Koh Chang)don%26#39;t forget!! to check the weather each days first,at Koh Chang try Kai bae beach or White Sand beach.You can see more pictures and more info.in the hotel website or in hotels2thailand.com or koh-chang.com etc...

Yep, Kai Bae beach on Koh Chang is a fantastic location! Do both koh Chang and Koh samet if you have time, then you have had a good Island holiday when you throw in the FMP at Koh Pangan.

aww brilliant - thanks for all the advice guys!! its a shame about the time of year we are going, it was unavoidable unfortunately, but will defo go to all the places advised!! thank you!!

We are going to the FMP next month (October) as well! Really really hoping for good weather, though not even sure what the probability of that is.

And we are also planning on trying out scuba diving on Koh Tao. We are not yet certified and were hoping to do that on Koh Tao, as well as get in some good diving. Have you heard much about how the weather is for diving?
