Shopping in AONANG and KRABI town

Hello, Can anyone tell me what the shopping is like in Aonang and also Krabi Town for things like clothes, DVD%26#39;s, handbags etc ?? Thankyou

Hi holidayhopefuls,

Jo here from Perth. In Krabi town there are two huge new stores: Tesco Lotus and Big C. They are huge Target type stores but a little more interesting. They are both set in shopping centres where you may find a good handbag shop. For the usual DVDs there are shops along the main road in Ao Nang selling many of those and also the usual Thai type of things such as sarongs, wooden items etc etc Takes a bit of looking but I usually find things I like.

DVD%26#39;s may be hard to find in Aonang for a little while - they did a big raid recently on pirated ones.

I hate to burst your bubble but shopping in AoNang for me, who has just returned after 3wks was boring. If you%26#39;re stopping off in Bangkok, do your shopping there or on the way back. There were virtually no handbag shops except very pricey designer ones, fashions were way behind and I found Krabi very expensive compared to Bangkok. I think that raid must have affected everything.

Thanks Danielle, unfortunately we are not going thru Bangkok, we only have a brief stopover in Singapore, so will have to search thru Aonang and see what we can find!! We plan a daytrip to Phi Phi, do you know what the shopping is like there?

Ao Nang is not brilliant for shopping, nothing like Patong in Phuket.

as the previous poster has said there are a couple of stores in Krabi town, but it isn%26#39;t a shoppers paradise

Hi the shopping in Phi Phi is not good either mainly places selling beach things ect.
