we used Bangkok air to go to Chiang Mai from BKK cheap and reliable

Hi Elaine

Allow for delays when booking your flights, Air Asia have a reputation for being late / delayed. They are a great airline and I use them frequently but dont make your booking from Bangkok to Krabi too close together. Even if you have to spend a few hours at the airport in Bangkok waiting.

Hi Elaine,

it is certainy doable if you do it with some thought.

We flew from Phuket to Bangkok and then caught a flight to Chiang Mai. I think that the flight ex Phuket was about 9am and the flight ex Bangkok was about 1pm. It was a bit of a rush but we made it easily.

We had 4 flights with Airasia and only 1 delay. But in saying that you can not predict which flight may be delayed so leave plenty of time in between in case it does happen.

It was a long day for us but we thought it was a better alternative then going all the way into Bangkok for 1 night then making our way back to the airport the next day.

Airasia is great value for money just plan ahead and expect a delay just in case.

Have a great time

hi there,

me and my gf are going to thailand in december. with internal flights between bangkok and changmai and back down is it worth booking flights before our trip? I have heard that it is ok to just rock up to the airport a few days before and there shouldnt be a problem getting on a flight and apparently its much cheaper that way too. is that true?

cheers

Jooza, I have not heard about flights being cheaper if you just turn up at the airport. December is peak, peak season like everywhere else. I personally wouldnt take the chance, book on-line.

Jooza,

I agree with the above post. It%26#39;s truly busy in December, much better to book online before you go.
