Chiangmai Hotel

Hello !

Will be going to Chiang Mai in May for my wedding anniversary. A friend recommended Central Dungtawan hotel as it%26#39;s very convenient as i love shopping !

Can anyone feedback/comment on this hotel ? greatly appreciate.

if there are any better hotel around the shopping areas, i dont mind exploring as well !

Chiangmai Hotel

Dungtawan is a nice deluxe hotel, clean and well appointed. And quite convenient to shopping at the night bazaar. A nicer hotel would be the D2, the newest deluxe hotel near the night bazaar.

Both are standard western style big city hotels, with Thai influence in the interior design.

If your shopping interest are not for copies, knockoffs, handicrafts and other night bazaar items ... then the shopping malls you want are on the other side of town.

I would recommend RarinJinda Wellness Spa Resort. An idea of perhaps a second honeymoon at their luxurious villa would blow your spouse%26#39;s mind over the roof as he/she will definitely love it.

Central Duangtawan Hotel is just another city hotel that you can stay in your home town. I stayed there once but I did not like it as the decoration is quite old and not properly cleaned. The bathroom was big but nothing special.

I would suggest Rarinjinda Wellness Spa Resort . The price might be a little high but everything is perfect. You can walk to Night Bazaar as its location is about 1 km. away. It is like a destination spa that you can enjoy thier spa treatments and other health programs. This property is like 5 star boutique resort in the heart of the city. Check it out , www.rarinjinda.com . Remember, it%26#39;s new and you can bargain with them.

Your Wedding anniversary !! You need something more special like ';Yang Come'; on Chang Klan Road right in the center of town and walking distance to everything ...Really ! I don%26#39;t have the web site at hand but that is definitely the better one for a Weding anniversary .....if you want to be right in town ...there are other great places on the outskirts too .....!!

Just returned ..forget Yaang Come Village,I was devoured by mosquitoes not only outside but in the bathroom...lasted two hours and decided not to spend the night swatting insects at that pricepoint...

went to the new Shangrila just up the street from the night market..it was heavenly and they arranged for anything I needed..amazing pool,spa and gym...

I always find hotels such as Yaang Come, Rachamankha, Tamarin hotel more unique and reflecting Thai architecture.

Places like Centara, Mae Ping or even more the new Shangri-La could be standing in any other city in the world, it has no signature.

We stayed here and agree with the post saying its not that clean and its dated, would not stay here again.
