Book ferry/boat to Koh Pha Ngan from Koh Samui in advance?

I%26#39;ve been looking at the ferry %26amp; boat options to Koh Pha Ngan from Koh Samui, and I am hoping to go with something inexpensive on the afternoon the day before the FMP next month.

I%26#39;m wondering whether it is a good idea and makes sense financially and practically - because the FMP is the next day - to book the ferry or boat in advance.

Are the prices higher if you get the tickets there day of? Because we would be going the day before the FMP will it be harder to get tickets at a decent price if we don%26#39;t book in advance?
